Acceptance

The pursuit of acceptance
Is a long road, full of disappointment.
The pain of rejection,
The sting of apathy,
Drives men into darkness:
A darkness that grows
With every passing day;
Bringing out the worst,
Serving only to magnify itself.
Yet, the fruit of such quest
Is the light by which
All darkness is overcome.
The joy of fellowship,
The contentment companionship brings,
True friends who understand...
Make it all worthwhile.
